Christianity wasn’t always its own religion – the first Christians were, in fact, Jewish … because Jesus was Jewish! How do we then understand the Jewishness of Jesus? How was his movement different to other Jewish movements?
Meet our guests
The Rev Dr George Athas is the Director of Research, Old Testament, and Hebrew at Moore Theological College in Sydney. His research interests include the Old Testament prophetic books, apocalyptic literature, the exilic and post-exilic periods, Second Temple Judaism and early Christianity.
He is a returning guest on Undeceptions, having previously appeared on Episode 54 ‘Between Testaments’, discussing the inter-testimonial period.
